Join Ann Kynion, a retired teacher and educator for 25 years, for a talk about planting for pollinators. Ann is a Master Gardener (Emeritus), Monarch “Bed Head” at the Waterwise Garden on National, Urban Beekeeper for 8 years, and an artist. She is passionate about creating a habitat for pollinators and native plants and has a Gold Standard Yard Ethic (City Program to create a healthy community for people, plants, and wildlife) 2020. Ann’s talk is a part of Planet Unity Festival taking place on Earth Day 2023, April 22, 2023, at 12:45 PM.

In this presentation, Ann will share her knowledge and experience on how to create a habitat for pollinators and native plants. She will discuss the importance of pollinators and how to attract them to your garden. She will also provide tips on how to create a pollinator-friendly garden, including using a wide variety of plants that bloom from early spring into late fall, avoiding modern hybrid flowers, eliminating pesticides whenever possible, including larval host plants in your landscape, creating a damp salt lick for butterflies and bees, and more. Ann will also share her experience as an Urban Beekeeper and provide tips on how to create a habitat for bees in your garden.
