The Junior Sunday School (JSS) is for (potty-trained) children 3 through 5th graders, and is available whenever church services are held (9:15 & 11 am Sunday mornings, and for classes at 7 pm Wednesday evenings). A parent or guardian must sign their child(ren) in and out of the care of the JSS, and provide a current phone number so they may be reached if necessary. The curriculum is designed to help children discover their innate spirituality and oneness with God.
If your child has a fever or is otherwise unwell, please do not bring them to the Sunday school,
as we strive to provide a healthy environment for ALL children,
and we are not equipped to administer medical care.
If you need child care in order to attend a special event hosted by Unity of Springfield, pleaes submit your request for this service to the Church Office or directly to the Youth Co-Directors at least 3 business days prior to the event.
Alice Merrifield,
Nursery Director
The Nursery is staffed by Alice Merrifield, and is open whenever church services are held on Sunday mornings, from 9 am to 10:15 and from 10:45 am until 12:15 pm.
Alice has been working with infants to toddlers as a Nursery Supervisor since 1982 at Unity of Springfield. She truly loves working with children this age, and they love her in return. As she watches their individual uniqueness express, the joy Alice experiences helping children learn and grow is readily apparent.
Alice was born in Mexico and raised in West Texas, and she is fluent in Spanish and English. Alice has been married to her husband, John, for 37 happy years. In her free time, Alice enjoys simple pleasures, and loves to pamper herself.
