Step into the enchanting world of Mabon, often referred to as the pagan Thanksgiving, as we gather to celebrate the Autumn Equinox at Unity of Springfield. As the day and night stand in perfect equilibrium, Mabon invites us to embrace balance, equality, and harmony in both our lives and the world around us.

In ancient times, Mabon represented the second harvest, following the initial Lughnasadh festivities. Farmers would come together to reap the rewards of their labor, collecting hearty treasures like gourds, pumpkins, grapes, and apples.

Modern Gatherings

Today, our Modern Mabon Celebration carries forward this spirit of gratitude, inviting us to express thanks for the bountiful blessings bestowed upon us by Mother Earth – nourishing us not only physically, but also spiritually. This event also provides a precious opportunity to contemplate the cyclical journey of the Wheel of the Year. It's a time to acknowledge your accomplishments and to release any burdens that no longer serve you from the past twelve months.

As the Wheel of the Year completes its cycle, Mabon offers a prime occasion to set intentions for decrease and reduction. It's a time to bid farewell to unhealthy habits, detrimental beliefs, and relationships that have lost their positive essence.
